Our regulatory college (RCDSO) has advised us today that patients are only required to wear masks if they answer yes to any of the Ministry of Health COVID screening questions as listed below:
- Do you have any flu-like symptoms (fever/chills, new/worsening cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste/smell, unexplained fatigue, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea (if <18 years old))?
- Have you tested positive for COVID in the last 10 days?
- Have you travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days and do not have 2 vaccine doses?
- Have you had close contact with a COVID patient without appropriate PPE and do not have 2 vaccine doses?
If you answer no to all of the above questions, you are still more than welcome to wear a mask for your own personal comfort.
Thank you for your cooperation!
